Obituary of Michael Lee Luther

Michael Lee Luther was born on February 10th, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. He died on March 10th, 2023 at the age of 76. Mike served his country in the Army as a member of the 101st Airborne and Special Forces Green Beret. While serving in Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star. Mike lived in St. Louis for the past 7 ½ years. Prior to that, he lived and worked in Atlanta Georgia as an IT Systems Analyst. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Luella Luther of Coralville, Iowa. He is survived by Patrick (Peggy) Luther of Mokena, Illinois, Kim (Jeanne) Luther of Wildwood, Missouri and sisters Susan Lawson of Walnut Creek, CA., Stacy (Bob) Danis of Manchester, Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers for the last 4 ½ years, Donna, Amber, Jaylen, David and special Buddies, Taryn and Rocko. The family gives a heartfelt thank you to the Iowa City High School Class of 1965. The funeral will be held Sunday, March 19th, 2023 at 10 a.m.at Gay & Ciha Funeral Home on Muscatine Ave. with a short Visitation prior to the funeral at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please love a pet and make a donation to the APA of St. Louis, 1705 S.
