Obituary of William F. Greene

William F. “Bill” Greene, 90, of Iowa City, died on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City. No public services will be held and his cremated remains will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. He married Joy A. Schnoebelen on June 10, 1950, in Iowa City. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1951 where he also played football for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Bill served in the United States Navy. Bill and Joy spent many years in Princeton, N.J., where he worked as a Marketing Researcher for an advertising firm, until his retirement in 1994, after 35 years of service. In 2015, Joy and Bill returned to Iowa City after spending their retirement years in Washington State. Bill is survived by his wife Joy of Iowa City and many extended family members.
