Stephen Clair Snyder was born March 28, 1950, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Vernon C. and Joyce W. (Fountain) Snyder. Steve was raised in Columbus Junction, graduating from Columbus Junction High School with the Class of 1968. He has worked hard for many years, working for Rath Packing, Wapello Valley Meat Processing, and the Grimm Brothers, before retiring a couple years ago. If you knew Steve you knew a simple man, one who liked horse racing, woodworking, building many beautiful pieces; playing pitch with family and friends, roadtrips without maps, camping with his favorite grandson, Hunter, and recently traveling to Europe with his favorite granddaughter, Haley and her classmates. Being Grandpa was the best title he ever had, close second was Dad, Brother, Son, and even Fuzz as his friends knew him! A good man who liked it simple, but was loved by many!
His family includes his two daughters, Casey Shook and Kendra Gould (Tony); grandchildren, Haley and Hunter Shook; his mother, Joyce Snyder; and siblings, Rick Snyder (Marilyn), Laurie Salazar (Roger), and Craig Snyder (Julie); numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Linda Coleman and her family. Steve’s dad, Vernon preceded Steve in death.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Steve’s family and his arrangements.
