Obituary of Richard G. Zeithamel

Richard G. Zeithamel, age 76 formerly of Iowa City area died Thursday, October 19, 2006, at the Parkview Manor Care Center in Wellman where he has resided for a number of years. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 6pm Sunday, October 22, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Richard George Zeithamel was born December 24, 1929, in Iowa City the son of William F. and Elsie A. (Sass) Zeithamel. He attended catholic schools here in Iowa City graduating from St. Mary’s Catholic High School. For over twenty-five years he served in the Iowa National Guard, he also worked as a U.S. Postal Carrier in this area for a number of years. His family includes a son, Travis Zeithamel of Iowa City; grandson, Nikulas Zeithamel; brother and his wife, Bob and Barb Zeithamel of Buena Vista, CO; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bill. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for his family and his services.
