Obituary of Yvonne Marie Darling

Yvonne M. Darling, age 72 of 313 3rd. Avenue, Coralville, died Thursday, September 14, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 2 to 4pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Yvonne was born September 13, 1934, in West Liberty, Iowa the daughter of Clyde and Jessica Hime. She has spent her lifetime in the West Liberty – Iowa City area. She enjoyed Pathways of Iowa City, playing bingo and doing crafts at the senior center in Iowa City, but most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family includes daughters, Bobbie Fetter of Olin, IA, Bonnie Hart and her husband, Billy of Springville, IA, Pam McBride and her husband, Jerry of Coralville, Nancy Henderson and her husband, Junior of Allerton, IA, Pancy Ruggles and her husband, Robert of Worthington, MO; sons, Robert McGuire and his wife, Virginia of Oskaloosa, IA, and Emory Darling of Iowa City, 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Hofer of York, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Jason Darling, great-grandson, Xander Marshall; and brothers, Duane, Leslie, Clyde, and Ronald Hime. Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Yvonne’s family and her services.
