Obituary of Edith Wilson Miick

Edith W. Miick, age 93 of Oxford, died Sunday at her home. Cremation services were provided by Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City and Oxford. Burial will take place at the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton Illinois at a later date. Edith Wilson Hollinshead Miick was born March 22, 1913, in Whiteside County, Illinois the daughter of D. Earle and Phurnia (Wilson) Hollinshead. She attended schools in Fulton, IL graduating from high school in 1931, and then attended and graduated from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. For many years she worked in the field of nursing. She was married to John Ingwersen and later to Edward Miick. She has lived in the Oxford area since the 1950’s. She was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s, the Nemora Club of Oxford, and O.E.S. Her family includes a nephew and his wife, David and Raggi Hollinshead of Temecula, CA; great-nephew and his wife, David and Donna Hollinshead of Delray Beach, FL; and great-great nephews, Michael and Christofer Hollinshead; and dear friends for years, Hazel, David and Millie Cook of Oxford. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother, Lauren Hollinshead, and her sister, Frances Porter.
