Obituary of James Lee Jamieson

James L. Jamieson, age 56 of 9393 Apadana Court, Coralville died at his home Friday, August 18, 2006 of an apparent heart attack. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2006, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City with the Reverend Brooks Simpson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established in Jim’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for his family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. James Lee Jamieson was born September 21, 1949, in Shipman, IL the son of Marvin S. and Ruth I. (Crowder) Jamieson. He graduated from Highland High School, and later served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He had worked in this area for a number of employers before his health forced him to retire. His family includes his father, Marvin Jamieson of Iowa City; sisters, Donna LaGrange of Iowa City, and Helen Stone of North Liberty; brothers, Dan Jamieson of Iowa City, Kevin Jamieson of Downey, and Daren Jamieson of Iowa City, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Dowland; step-father, Wendell Dowland, brother, David Jamieson, and brother-in-law, Wayne Stone. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Jim’s services and his family.
