Obituary of Inez Koser

Inez Koser, age 97 of Coralville, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at the Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Friday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Family graveside services will be held on Saturday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. Inez Myers Koser was born November 1, 1908, in North Liberty, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Myers) Snavely. She graduated from Iowa City City High School in 1926. On October 22, 1929, she was united in marriage to Clifford Koser in North Liberty. For a number of years the couple owned and operated the Koser Grocery Store in North Liberty. They moved to McAllen, Texas in 1950, moving back to this area in 1954 to Coralville where they operated the Koser Grocery Store on Fifth Street until their retirement in 1970. Inez was a charter member of the Coralville United Methodist Church. Her family includes her daughter, Jean Vitosh and her husband, Richard of Iowa City; daughter-in-law, Linda Koser of Nichols; four grandchildren, Kris Brack and her husband, Matt of West Branch; Ed Koser and his wife, Alta of Milton, IA, Steve Walden and Scott Walden both of Iowa City; 2 great-grandchildren, Andrea and Adam Walden; and several nieces and nephews. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clifford; two sons, Roy and Edward Koser; and a brother, Carl Snavely.
