Obituary of Dolores A. Rogers
Dolores A. Rogers, 84 of Iowa City died Monday, July 17, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, July 21, 2006 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Online condolences for Dolores family may be sent through our website @ www.gayandciha.com. Dolores was born to Rudolph and Catherine (Shebeck) Eichler on October 30, 1921 in Iowa City. Dolores was a graduate of Iowa City High and had attended the University of Iowa. She married Harold Rogers on March 16, 1942 ; he preceded her in death on April 9, 2002. Dolores was the Johnson County Auditor from 1955 until 1977. She had also worked at Oakdale and Yetters Department Store, Iowa City. Dolores was member of the Pilot Club International, Plum Grove Questors, the Royal Neighbors and Iowa Womens Bowling Association. Dolores had been a volunteer at Veterans Hospital, Iowa City and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Dolores family includes a daughter, Connie Maske and John Archer of Monticello, Illinois; two sons, Joe Rogers and wife, Dawn of Iowa City and Jon Rogers and his wife, Mary of Champaign, Illinois. Grandchildren, Martin Maske and his wife, Diane, Matthew Maske and his wife, Phuong, Chrissy Harapat and her husband, Tim, Erin Rogers, Randy Rogers and his wife, Beth, Tamara LeGrand her husband, Kevin, Adam Rogers, Tori Rogers and Heath Rogers; great-grandchildren, Kurt Maske, Carissa Maske, Tyler Harapat, Trevor Harapat, Kyle LeGrand, Cameron Harapat and Ceanna Verry. A sister Beatrice Davis and her, husband, Herb of Iowa City. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Richard, granddaughter Kyle Rogers, and infant granddaughter, Rachel Rogers, a great granddaughter, Jamie Maske, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
