Obituary of Mary Helen Martin

Mary Helen Martin, age 82 of 306 Ridgeview Avenue, Iowa City, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City with the Reverend Kenneth Kuntz officiating. Mary Helen Raymond was born December 10, 1923, in Iowa City, the daughter of Mabel (Monaghan) and Edwin Bay Raymond. She graduated from Iowa City City High School with the class of 1941, and attended the State University of Iowa. Mary Helen married Richard C. Martin on December 9, 1943, in Chicago. After many adventures, she and Richard returned to Iowa City nearly twenty years ago to enjoy their retirement back home with their friends. Her family includes her husband, Richard C. Martin; their children, Thomas E. Martin of Lacey, WA, Cyprian R. Martin and his wife, Barbara Prine of West Hartford, CT, Susan A. Martin of Broadview, Il, Nancy Martin Stanisavljevic and her husband, Dan of Aurora, IL; and many dear beloved friends.
