Obituary of Stephen L. Bausch, Jr.

Stephen Lester Bausch, Jr., 66 of Coralville died June 1, 2006. Memorial services will be held 7pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5:30 pm until service time Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the funeral home. A memorial fund in Stephen’s name has been established. Stephen was born September 23, 1939 in Conesville, Iowa to Stephen Lester and Mae Adeline Bausch, Sr. Stephen was raised in a large farming family. Stephen farmed throughout his life in the Columbus Junction area and later in Washington County. Farming was his passion as well as his vocation; he enjoyed raising cattle and had a Black Angus cow/calf herd. As a child he loved to hunt and collect arrow heads on the home farm. Skiing was his favorite sport in winter and traveled to Aspen, Colorado many times. Stephen’s family includes his children, Michelle Hannink, Mark Bausch, Julia Finley and John Bausch; grandchildren Alicia and James Hannink; Miranda Finley; Emily and Chloe Bausch; step-mother Sarabelle Bausch and siblings, Hope Niffennegger, Ruth McConnell, Ronald Bausch, Douglas Bausch, Lester Bausch, Gary Bausch, Joyce Johnson, Carol Chatfield, Marilyn Percy, Phillip Bausch, Jarrold Bausch and Susan Sturgis; and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence Bausch. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Stephen’s family and his services.
