Obituary of Harold Robert Vesely

Harold Robert Vesely, age 90 of 59 Coneflower Court, Iowa City died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2006, at the Valley Church rural Swisher, Iowa with the Reverend Paul Bult officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Tiffin. Visitation will be from 3 to 6pm Sunday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Harold Robert Vesely was born February 27, 1916, in Iowa City the son of Joe and Anna (Konvalinka) Vesely. He married Helen Colony, who later died in April of 1986. He married Dorothy Coblentz on June 29, 1991, in Iowa City. For many years Harold worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the maintanance department. He was a former member of the Oddfellows Lodge, and a member of the Valley Church. His family includes his wife, Dorothy; two sons and their wives, Donald and Barb Vesely of St. Peters, MO, and Robert and Peg Vesely of Coralville; daughter, Janet Singleman of North Liberty; five grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd Vesely of Iowa City, sister, Phyllis Vesely of Iowa City; and a sister-in-law, Delores Vesely of Tiffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen; and a brother, Ken Vesely. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Harold’s family and his services.
