Obituary of Mona G. Rarick

Mona G. Rarick, age 91 formerly of 2315 Rochester Avenue, Iowa City died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services are pending at this time. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Mona's family and her services. Mona Genevieve Lindgren Rarick was born February 16, 1915 in Frankfort, SD, the daughter of Edward and Bella (Carlson) Lindgren. She graduated from Essex High School, and attended the State University of Iowa here in Iowa City. She married Arnold Rarick January 1, 1938, in Iowa City. The couple lived all their married lives in Iowa City where she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and Church Circle 2. She was a member of the Elks Club, Volunteer at Mercy Hospital for over 25 years, member of the Mercy Seniors, and always enjoyed playing bridge. Her family includes a son, Jay Rarick of San Migael de Allende, Mexico, and a daughter-in-law, Judith Rarick of Iowa City; grandson and his wife, Eric William Jones and Susan R. Jones; great-grandchildren, Johnson William Jones, Julia Catherine Jones, and Jackson Alexander Jones. She was preceded death by her parents, husband, Arnold; and son, Gene A. Rarick.
