Obituary of Paul F. Sorensen

Paul F. Sorensen, age 42 of Oxford, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital from complications of a fall. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2006, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford, with the Reverend Edmond Dunn officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm today at the Oxford Chapel of Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, where a parish vigil service will be held at 8pm tonight. Paul Francis Sorensen was born September 14, 1963 in Iowa City, the son of Peter and Dorothy (Kutcher) Sorensen. Having lived his entire life in Oxford, he attended and graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1981. For a number of yeas he worked at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Paul has always lived at home and cared for his parents as they got older. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford. Those who knew Paul well knew his love for video games and playing these with his nieces and nephews. His family includes his brothers, Larry Sorensen and his wife, Sharon of Tiffin, Mike Sorensen of Tiffin, Steve Sorensen and his wife, Deb of North Liberty, Jim Sorensen and his wife, Angie of West Branch, Chuck Sorensen and his wife, Deana of Park View, Iowa; sisters, Mary Sue "Susie" Sorensen of Oxford, and Diane Sorensen of Coralville; fourteen nieces and nephews, and two great-nieces and nephews.
