Obituary of Ida H. Walsh
Her family includes her husband, James; sons, Duane and his wife, Virginia Brenneman of Oxford, Robert and his wife, Nancy Brenneman of Florida, Jim and his wife, Kathy Warford of Alabama, Ronald and his wife, Gloria Walsh, Thomas and his wife Janet Walsh, and Joseph and his wife, Lauri Walsh all of Iowa City; daughters, Virginia and her husband, Ronald Krueger of Lone Tree, Linda and her husband, Jeffrey Hall of Lone Tree, Pamela and her husband, Pete Montoya of Loveland, CO, Cindy Larkin and friend, Bret Penney of Solon, Judy Edwards, Sharon Walsh, and Donna Walsh and friend, Dave Hemsted all of Lone Tree; thirty-eight grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, brothers, George Flemming of Muscatine, and Bill Flemming of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Beverly, one brother, one sister, and two great-grandchildren.
Ida was born March 6, 1917 in rural Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of Harry P. and Ruth (Davenport) Flemming. On August 14, 1946, she married James Thomas Walsh in Rock Island, Illinois. For many years, she was employed by the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics retiring in 1982. She then worked for Little Bs Restaurant in Lone Tree for nearly seven years.
She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Iowa City and VFW Auxiliary in Lone Tree. For those that knew Ida you knew her love for her family, she enjoyed her sewing, crossword puzzles, and baking. In Lone Tree for many years now she has been known for her pumpkin cookies at Halloween, kids big and small knew that the best treats in Lone Tree could be found at Idas house.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
