Obituary of Eleanor M. Work

Her family includes several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on June 12, 1979, five brothers and three sisters. Eleanor May Brown was born March 8, 1902, in the Clear Creek Township of Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of William and Mary (Bowers) Brown. She married Ford A. Work on November 6, 1920, in Iowa City. For many years, the couple farmed in the Tiffin and North Liberty areas of Johnson County. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin, Iowa City Eastern Star and White Shrine of Iowa City and the Whip Poor Will’s. She has spent a life time of caring for others, and caring for the land that she and her husband farmed. Memorial donations can be made in Eleanor’s memory to either the North Liberty United Methodist Church of Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin.
