Obituary of Dale D. Hughes

Dale D. Hughes, age 82, of 2801 Hwy 6 East, Iowa City died Friday, January 27, 2006, in Arizona as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held 11am, Monday, February 6, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 9am until service time, Monday, at the funeral home. Memorials in Dale's memory may be given to the Ronald McDonald House. Dale was born September 20, 1923, in Iowa City to Edwin and Vera (Skriver) Hughes. He attended schools in rural Johnson County. On October 21, 1946, Dale was married to Elizabeth "Clem" Rath, she preceded him in death on December 15, 1993. Dale was a Printing Supervisor with the University of Iowa Printing Service. Dale was a member of the Iowa City Moose Lodge #1096 and the Iowa City VFW Post #3949. Dale's family includes nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
