Obituary of Richard L. Brack
Richard Leonard Brack age 75 of Oxford died on Friday, December 31, 2004 at his home following a short illness. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford with Rev. Edmond Dunn officiating. Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Oxford. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. A memorial fund in his name has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Richards family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Richard was born on March 2, 1929 in rural Oxford, the son of Leonard and Martha (Sponar) Brack. He attended country school in Johnson County and graduated from Oxford High School in 1947. He married Anna Joyce Kapfer on May 10, 1950, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Oxford. He farmed south of Oxford for many years. He was a member of St. Marys Church Oxford. He is survived by two sons: Dan (Dianna) Brack, Terry (Brenda) Brack; four daughters Kathy Brack, Marcia Dawson, Michelle Brack all of Oxford and Sandy (Craig) Newkirk of Homestead; son-in-law, Laren Wille of Belle Plaine; sister Janet (Richard) Kron of Riverside, ten grandchildren: Anthony Brack, Sara McConnell, Kristina and Kyle Wille, Katrina Brown, Elizabeth and Hannah Newkirk, Jeffrey and Anna Dawson, Michael Brack and one great-grandson Tyler McClure. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his daughter Susan Wille, his parents and two sisters, Elaine Argotsinger and Mary Teresa Brack. He enjoyed everything to do with farming and being in the country. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, Farmall tractors, and the changing seasons. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, patient father, and gentle grandfather. He was a man of undying faith and truly believed There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under heaven.
