Obituary of Elizabeth C. Reynolds

Elizabeth C. Reynolds, age 92 formerly of 944 Miller Avenue, Iowa City died Monday, October 31, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2005, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the American Diabetes Association. Elizabeth Carrie (Kleinschmidt) Reynolds was born March 1, 1913, in rural Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of Albert F. and Wilhemina “Minnie” (Heede) Kleinschmidt. She attended schools in Iowa City graduating from City High School in 1931. On September 3, 1935, she married Robert Henry Reynolds. The couple had lived all their lives in Johnson County. For many years she worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in housekeeping retiring after 23 years of service. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Her husband, Robert died January 4, 1979. Her family includes her children, Fred Reynolds of Riverside, Eugene Reynolds and his wife, Glenda of Hills, Hannah Telford of Kalona, Linda Pierce of Iowa City, and Kathy Morrison and her husband, Jeff of Letts; 14 grandchildren, Julia Parker, Jeffrey Reynolds, Margaret Rose, Diana Reynolds, Tammy Pachow, Kristi Holm, Beth Hora, Michelle Crockett, Angela Niffen, Roy Pierce, Bob Pierce, Jeremy Schreiber, Joshua Schreiber, John Schreiber, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Randy Ray Reynolds, brothers, William and Fred, sisters, Marie and Hannah, and twins in infancy.
