Obituary of Helen E. Mulcahy

Helen E. Mulcahy, age 93 formerly of 607 11th. Avenue, Coralville died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Iowa City Health Care & Rehab Center in Iowa City following a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Walter Helms officiating. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Ottumwa at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in Helen’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for her family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. Helen E. (Konrad) Mulcahy was born August 15, 1911, in Milo, Iowa the daughter of John and Clara Deiters Konrad. She married Dennis E. Mulcahy on May 29, 1942. For over twenty-five years she worked as the bookkeeper at Briskey Cabinets in Coralville. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Iowa City. Her family includes two sons, Dennis “Mike” Mulcahy of Jacksonville, FL, and Tim J. Mulcahy of Iowa City; five grandchildren, Angela Mulcahy, Catherine “Susie” Jensen and her husband, Jeff, Kristine Rushing and her husband, Eric, Carolyn Mulcahy, and Michael Mulcahy and his wife, Tana; nine great-grandchildren, JT. Jensen, Brittney Rushing, Justin Rushing, Jacob Rushing, Jeremy Mulcahy, Emily Mulcahy, Brandon Mulcahy, Patrick Mulcahy, and Alyssa Mulcahy; sisters, Mildred Yochum of Forsyth, MO, and Petronilla McDermott of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dennis on October 11, 1988, and a brother, Edward Konrad. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Helen’s family and her services.
