Obituary of Grace G. Kaeser

Her family includes two sons, Lester Kaeser Jr. of Iowa City, and Kent and his wife, Judy Kaeser of West Branch; daughter, Pamela Larson of Columbus Junction; seven grandchildren, Robin, Lori, William, Tracy, Scott, Becky, and Kurt; seven great-grandchildren, Erik, Jakob, Rachelle, Stacey, Christopher Michael, Nicole, and Madelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester on July 4, 1982; and eight brothers and sisters. Grace Gertrude Smith was born January 30, 1915 in Volney, Iowa the daughter of Norman and Gertrude (Meyer) Smith. She married Lester J. Kaeser, April 15, 1933 in Elkader, Iowa. She has worked in a number of places, retiring from the University of Iowa, Burge Hall in food service. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in West Branch, Order of Eastern Star, West Branch Chapter, and Women of the Moose in Iowa City,a member of the Jonco Jill Club, and a number of card clubs including the Home Social Club and the Hilo Club. Grace’s family was important to her, playings cards, enjoying the outdoors, her church, all ways she enjoyed her life. A memorial fund has been established in Grace’s memory.
