Obituary of Carol Ann Gaal

Carol Ann Gaal, age 77, of Iowa City, passed away on January 15, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born on February 25, 1947 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Carol was the daughter of Leo and Christina (Fowler) Lewis.  She grew up in Iowa City and attended City High School.  Carol was united in marriage to Charles Gaal on June 27, 1980 in Iowa City.

Carol loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.  She also adored her dog, Skipper.

Carol’s family includes her daughter, Christina “Chris” Lewis of Iowa City; a granddaughter, Jennier Finnerty of Iowa City; a grandson, Archie Lewis of Iowa City; and a great-grandson, Jorgito Lewis. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her siblings; and dog, Skipper.

No formal services are planned at this time.  Memorials may be directed to the Family of Carol Gaal.
