Obituary of Becky Ann McLachlan

Becky Ann McLachlan, age 79, of North Liberty, passed away on January 3, 2025, at her home.

Becky was born on January 30, 1945 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. She was the daughter of Thomas and Billie (Messer) McLachlan.  Becky graduated from City High in 1963 and later attended Austin Peay State University.  She worked for Veterans Affairs for 38 years.  Becky worked at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, Fort Campbell in Kentucky, and the VA Medical Center in Iowa City where she retired on September 30, 2009 as a phlebotomist. 

She had a love of animals, especially Pomeranian dogs.  Becky volunteered many hours at the animal clinic in Coralville.  Religion was very important to Becky, and she was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.  In her younger years, she made stuffed Teddy Bears and later she enjoyed stamping up, making calendars and  countless cards for every occasion.

Becky’s family includes two brothers, Robert McLachlan of Coralville, and Thomas (Kristine) McLachlan of North Liberty; and nieces and nephews: Michelle McLachlan, Nicole (David) Moyes, Thomas (Jill) McLachlan and their children: Faith, Brynlee, and Lillian.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Jan McLachlan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Family of Becky McLachlan.
