Obituary of Cheryl Jean Schlote
Cheryl Jean Schlote, 62, of North Liberty, Iowa, died Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 4 -7 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. Cheryl Jean Schlote was born July 19, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Theodore and Karen J. (Womer) Schlote. She grew up in Lone Tree attending schools there, graduating with the Class of 1980 from Lone Tree High School. Prior to her pursuing her passion in her career, she worked at the former First National Bank, Hanger Prosthetics, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Dècolletage. She then after becoming a certified mastectomy fitter, owned and operated Scarlet’s Unmentionables.
Cheryl married Christopher R. Unversagt on July 6, 2017, in Clearwater, Florida where she simply loved the ocean and collecting sea shells. Other passions of Cheryl’s included painting as an artist, sewing, quilting, cooking, fishing, kayaking, tropicial fish and of course her dogs!
Her family includes her husband, Chris; mother and her husband, Karen and Ed Gaffey; father and his wife, Ted and Lynn Schlote; brother and his wife, Rusty and Brenda Scholte and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and uncle, Jerry Womer.
