I am so lucky to have had her in my life. I will never forget what she meant to me. I love you Ashlee.

Ashlee and I worked together throughout our college years at the Iowa House Hotel on the U of I campus. I fondly remember Ashlee's funny sense of humor and KINDNESS. She was a light! As an avid cyclist myself I really enjoyed following Ashlee's biking adventures in recent years and greatly admired her love and passion for the sport. My deepest condolences to the family. Ride on, my friend and I'll see you down the trail...

I did not know Ashlee well, but I am saddened by her loss, and wanted to share how she impacted my life in Iowa City.

I first knew Ashlee for her work with the Bur Oak Land Trust to preserve natural areas in and around our community, including many of my absolute favorite places to hike, relax, and experience awe and gratitude.

When I walk through Turkey Creek and Poppy Dickens preserves, Belgum Grove and other lands protected by Bur Oak, I will always be thankful to Ashlee and the many donors she cultivated. Her impact has been profound, and she is one of my heroes. Resilient habitats and nurturing spaces are just some of her special gifts to us.

My heart goes out to you all, her dear family and friends. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Ashlee and I worked together at the Iowa House Hotel during our time at the University of Iowa. Our friendship grew with the more rooms we cleaned together. She became one of my closest friends during college and for years after. Even though we may not have been as close in recent years she was always a friend. We could pick up right where we left off even if we hadn’t seen each other in years. We laughed so much together, the goofy laugh until you cry sort of laughter. All of the memories I have of Ashlee are good ones. She was such a wonderful person. I will miss her dearly. My deepest condolences to her family.

Me and my aunt Ashlee would always take pictures together every time we saw each other. She always talked about how she was gonna make me a photo album for my 16th birthday of all the pictures, now that can't happen. Im glad I got the pictures i did with her and ill always cherish those.I love you and miss you so much!

Ashlee Louise you were beautiful at birth. So special ♡ my first niece. As your loving momma held you in her arms, beaming down at you, we knew you'd make an impact on the world. However, we had no clue how many people you'd have an impact on. Thank you for brightening my life with your smile. Thank you for saving so many lives. I'll miss you. I love you.
