Obituary of Judy Kay Hansel

Judy Kay Hansel, age 86 of Coralville, died Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Celebration of life services for Judy will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, beginning at 5pm at Northridge Pavilion in Coralville.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.  

Judy Kay Campbell was born April 5, 1938, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Margaret (Dougall) Campbell.  She attended schools in Washington where she graduated from high school, she then went on to receive her nursing degree from nursing college in Burlington, IA.  She had worked most of her life in the health profession as a nurse, first in Chicago, then here in Iowa City at Mercy Hospital.

She loved the simple in life, reading, family gatherings and celebrations as nothing was more important to Judy than her family, she was the most devoted mother and grandmother one could ever ask for!

Her family includes her daughter, JoAnn Hansel (Emanuel Sankey); grandchildren, Malik, Elijah and Keyatta; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Mateo and Israel; siblings, Janice Gerlits, James Campbell and Christine Streed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David; and sister, JoAnn.
