On behalf of my mother, Marilyn Vulysteke (now VandeMoortel) I want to share our sincere condolences for your loss. My Mom spoke lovingly about her sweet friend for many years and was thrilled when Janet brought her to our mom’s 90th birthday celebration in 2022. They shared many happy memories from their school years. She is grateful for all of those.
I was sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I have known her and Phil since 1981 when I started working at Sears Sycamore Mall. We crossed paths throughout the years and even did some genealogy together while she was at Bridgewater. I will always remember seeing her with a smile on her face!
We warmly remember Marilyn and value her dedicated service on the ARRT Board of Trustees, including her role as President.
Our deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. A memorial is being sent to the Philip Holland/Kiwanis Pediatric Chaplains Fund at the Center for Advancement at the University of Iowa.
ARRT Staff and Board of Trustees.

We're so sorry to learn of Marilyn's death. Unfortunately we will not be able to be at the memorial service due to other family commitments that day. We will be celebrating with you in spirit the life of an amazing woman. One of my clearest memories is when I was six years old and a flower girl for my Uncle Roger and Aunt Lois's wedding. After the ceremony we were at my Clarke grandparent's home where Marilyn & Phil were, along with many other relatives. The two of them had been married only a few months and were being congratulated as well. I remember Marilyn's brown shoes and brown skirt as I looked up, up, up, at this very tall and stately couple!! Not only were they towering in stature but also in their generosity and care for others. We will miss them both. Cousins Barb (Clarke) & Jerry Oakland
Marilyn was a dear friend. I will miss her. May you be comforted by your memories. God bless you all.
Jay and family, as I read about your mom, I smiled. What a lady! I am sorry for your loss and it's never easy to go through this. She lived a full life so you all will have many wonderful memories of her in your heart. She certainly was a FORCE. God bless you all. Love, Joy Nekvasil
Marilyn was a role model to many students , technologists and educators. She was great example of what radiologic technologists should strive to be. I will miss her friendship and great spirit. Rest in peace and tell Phil hi.

To Janet and Jay. As you know your mom was a mentor to many of us imaging techs. Beside physics she taught us professionalism, independence, and strength. We were so naive that first year. I hope you inherited her strength and independence.
I am so sorry for your loss and may you find comfort in your mom’s faith.
May she rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Marilyn. Although I only had the pleasure of meeting her once, it was immediately clear that she was a remarkable woman. Her dedication as a mother, educator, and extensive contributions to the community through her volunteer work have left an indelible mark. My thoughts and prayers are with Janet and her family during this difficult time. May Marilyn’s spirit and legacy continue to inspire all of us.
