Dear Eric and Jack and all her dear ones, my deep sorrow and sympathy on Barbara's passing. Barbara's keen sense of injustice and impulse to speak out when she saw it enriched the very fabric of community in Iowa City and West Branch. My condolences on your loss. I have memories of Ms Marland from knocking around Iowa City in the early 1980's with Jack/Adam. I had some legal trouble at that time and she was the only one interested in getting me bailed out. I think there was a Christmas I shared at y'alls house with your mom, Skeezix and Jack/Adam. That was a slow moving but eventful time in my life and both she and Jack intersected it throughout the time I remained in IC. Prayers for her and your family.
