Obituary of Lois Marcella Seemuth

Lois M. Seemuth, 93 of Iowa City, died Saturday, June 8, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Lois was born October 25, 1930, in Laurel, Nebraska, to parents Herman and Julia (Hirschman) Sorensen. She married Robert Seemuth on August 8, 1951, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. Lois worked as an account clerk before retiring in 1990.

Her family includes her husband, Robert Seemuth; children, Julie Price, Sandy Seemuth, Sue (Roman) Miller, Jean Seemuth, and Rob Seemuth; grandchildren, Jerry (Connie) Seemuth, Bryan (Megan) Schmelzer, Rachel Miller, and Jennifer (Chris) Sheets; and great-grandchildren, Dani Seemuth, Brooklyn Schmelzer, Aiden Schmelzer, and Claire Sheets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, three brothers, and her son-in-law, Ron Price.
