Obituary of Margaret G. Harsin

Margaret Harsin, age 81 of 137 South Mt. Vernon Drive, Iowa City died Saturday, March 5, 2005, peacefully in her sleep. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2005, in the Chapel at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Burial will take place later at the Colgate Cemetery in Hamilton, New York. Mary Margaret Graham was born June 16, 1923, in Nelsonville, Ohio the daughter of Renzie D. and Mona M. (Dalton) Graham. Following graduation from high school in Athens. Ohio, she went on to receive her Bachlors of Science. Degree from Ohio University there in Athens. On April 7, 1948, she married Charles Duane Harsin in Athens. Duane was associated with Maytag for many years, so they have resided in a number of cities throughout their marriage of fifty-six years. In 1973, they moved to Iowa City. Margaret enjoyed reading, cooking, painting, visits with her neighbors and friends, and a loving relationship with Duane and their daughter, Jill and her family. Her family includes her husband, Duane; daughter, Jill Harsin of Hamilton, NY; step-grandsons, Philip B. Busch and his wife, Carey Hagan or Arlington, VA. and Leslie C. Busch of San Francisco, CA; one Step-great-grandson, Peter B. Busch; brother, Dow Graham and his wife, Marilyn of Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law, Briton Busch. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Margaret’s family and her services.
