Obituary of Leslee Carol Ealy

Leslee C. Ealy, age 78 longtime resident of Oxford, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Leslee Carol Covington was born December 5, 1945, in Paonia, Colorado, the daughter of James H. and Alice I. (Moore) Covington.  Her family moved to Belle Plaine, Iowa where she attended schools, graduating with the Class of 1964.  Shortly after graduation and with her father’s permission, she married Darrell W. Ealy on June 8, 1964, in Memphis, Missouri.  Her family has resided in Oxford for many years now, and for over thirty years she worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Central Sterilization Department.

She was one of the founding members of Hands of Christ Worship Center in Oxford and involved with Cedar Rapids Emmaus.  She has enjoyed traveling to the continental 48 states and a number of trips to visit family in Seattle.  But most of all, her husband, children and grandchildren has always been the sparkle in her eyes, she loved them dearly and they her!

Her family includes her husband, Darrell; children, Scott Ealy (Kelly), Kevin Ealy and Shelly Ealy; 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Sheldon, Blake, Adrienna, Jacob and Latosha;7 great-grandchildren, Riley, Russell, Lunaray, Bellanova, Logan, Hannah and Hero; and Leslee’s brother, Jere Covington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Russell, sister, Gladys Rogers and brother, Jimmie Covington.
