I am sorry to hear of Ellen's passing. I hope the memories and words of comfort you will be receiving at the service will be of comfort to you. Ellen was short on words but definitely made up for it in her loving and caring and thoughtfulness she showed to many. As my godmother , she was always there for me esp at my conformation. (she made my dress) Our family LOVED going to her home for family celebrations . What a sight it would be to see her and her sisters at the table after MN laughing and usually she was busy sewing or mending some clothes.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I will miss Ellen's quick wit. She was a quiet person but she had some clever comments. Everyone in the family has a bit of Ellen's quick wit in them. She lived a good life, many wonderful years with her kids and grandchildren. Hugs to all.

These Bible verses helped me during times of great loss. Jesus promised, "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comfort." Matthew 5:4

And "Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

I remember Aunt Ellen as a kind and loving woman with an easy, welcoming smile and arms outstretched for a hug. My favorite memories are when the Balfany sisters would get together in Windom filling the house with food, memories, and laughter well into the wee hours of the night. How they loved to reminisce!
