Condolences
I am so sorry to hear about Dick, a good friend, he and Mary. I just read this on Facebook. I didn't know about it until now. Mary and Dick sold 2 of our houses. I wrote a children's book about Mary The Realtor.
My sincere condolences Mary.
Love, Bonnie Bradley Hays

To the Davin family-
Sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. I knew him from when he worked with my Dad(George Dennis)at UIHC in the patient transportation dept. We were going to move to a house in Coralville and Dick was glad to volunteer. He was fun and interesting. I’m sure he’ll be missed until you can be together again.
Dear Mary & family:
Dick will surely be missed. What a great guy. So kind and considerate. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was such a pleasure to get to know and work with Dick & Mary at Coldwell Banker. Dick was just fun to be around with his great sense of humor and relaxed nature. Long before we got to know Dick as a Realtor, we bought our antique dining table from Mary back in 1975--a table we still love. Wishing peace to the whole family as you adjust to life without Dick.

Dear Mary and Family, Dick was a kind, positive man who always greeted me with a cheerful smile. He used his expertise as a Realtor to establish rapport and overcome the challenges that arose. RIP Marva Abel Lepic-Kroeger Realtors
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I have such fond memories of your dad from when I was a little girl. He was always happy, smiling, and whistling a happy tune. I am thinking of you all and I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
So sorry to hear of Dicks passing. He was such a nice man. I remember when I started in Real Estate in 1995, he was so kind even though I didn't always know what I was doing. LOL! He was one of a kind. RIP Dick! You will be remembered as one of the greats!!! Tracy Reiten, Lepic Kroeger Realtors.
Dick will always have a place in my heart. When I worked for the MLS (Iowa City Area Association of Realtors) we had our office on Dubuque Street, so I would walk over with the Sold or New Listing Books to their office, Dick would say "Hey Mary, come into my office" well I went in and under his desk he pulled out a HUGE suitcase and opened it and it was FULL of candy!! He said "Here have some candy" Later, I worked for Coldwell Banker and they all moved over to our company he started calling me Mary 2 and after they retired he would send me a birthday card and address it to MARY 2! He is truly with God now! RIP Dick.
We met Dick through antiquing. Dick had a gift with people. Bob and I spent many hours sitting around their kitchen table, just talking with Dick and Mary. They were hours we enjoyed. Often our talks started with discussion of antiques and then diverged into our families and daily life. Just talking with him made us happier and feeling better about everything. It is no wonder Dick had so many friends he had such a gift to make each person feel special and valued.
While I am unable to be with you during this difficult time, please know that my thoughts are with Mary and Dick's family.

We are sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He and Mary have been neighbors and very good friends to our parents there in Iowa City. He was so kind and funny and shared some good times/ laughs/ encouragement with our dad before his passing last year. I like to think of them, buddies united, in heaven today! Prayers for comfort are being said for your family in the days ahead.
I have many fond memories of Dick over the years, doing carpentry work for both Dick and Mary. When doing jobs for them, Dick would invite me in for coffee and fellowship before the start of each day. He had a mountain of love and consideration for us all. I will always treasure those times together.
Dick was one of a kind to me. He and Mary became close personal friends of mine over the selling and buying of property. I had never met such a caring fun couple to do business with before. Their passion for their work and the people they helped was just so awesome. I loved keeping up the relationship we had made for each other. I'm sure going to miss Dick very much. I had developed a great love for him and Mary.
So sorry for your loss. We turned to hip many times for his expertise and knowledge as we furnished our house.
Tom, John, Mary and the rest of the Davin family.
So sorry for your loss, Dick was the kindest , welcoming, caring person. When I used to come to house on Muscatine avenue he was always such joy to be greeted by him. I'm sorry he has moved on, but I feel blessed to have known him.
RIP King Richard!

Sincere condolences to Dick’s family. Such a kind man. My parents, Larry and Jan Kinney, grew up with Dick and Mina Lee in Cosgrove. They were life long friends. Many stories were exchanged over the years. Dick and Mary continued to visit my mom after my dad’s passing. Many afternoons spent talking and praying together. May Dick rest in eternal peace and Mary enjoy the many good memories.
I worked with Mary many years ago at Drug Fair. My condolences to her and her family.
Mary, Cindy, Tom and all the family sorry for your loss. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. Keep all the good memories in your hearts forever. God Bless
Many fond memories of Dick's storytelling, as well as the love for Mary, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The world will miss Dick Davin.
What a wonderful guy! Great neighbor, friend, realtor, story teller and always with a big smile asking..."how are you? how are your boys?"
I bought my first house from him, I think in 1984. A very nice guy. My sympathy to his family.
So sorry to read about Dick. He was good at his job and helped so many people. He helped my son buy a farm. He is one you don't forget.
To the family of Dick Davin. What a great guy with a greater sense of humor. I enjoyed knowing Dick when i was a realtor at Coldwell Banker. He and Mary were such a nice couple who were great to work with. I enjoyed seeing them at board functions too and we also showed each others houses. Never forget doing lunch with Dick. He'd call and tell me it was time to go get a bowl of soup!
Wonderful man and wonderful family!
God bless

A very nice man. Remember when he cam in the old Warco when I worked there. Thoughts and prayers for you all.
Dick was one of the nicest men I've ever known. My wife and I were closing on a house and signing documents with Mary when Dick came home with several servings of chili in a sack. I knew that was going to be their supper, but he wouldn't let us leave without taking it with us. It made me feel like a family member not just another person buying a home. That's the type of person we all just lost. Mary and family you have my deepest condolences.
