Obituary of Yvonne M. Poggenpohl

Yvonne M. “Bonnie” Poggenpohl, age 98 of Iowa City died Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Lantern Park Specialty Care Center in Coralville.

A time of visitation will be held from 11am to 12:30 Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service followed by a graveside service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  

Yvonne M. Delay was born October 4, 1925, in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Wilma (Ferrel) Delay.  Following graduation from Davenport Central High School she attended Nursing School and became a nurse.  For over 35 years she took so much pride in being a Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.  In addition to her family, her work, she also enjoyed camping, trout fishing and playing Bingo.

Bonnie’s family includes her five children, Jeannie Stoddard, William Poggenpohl (Kathy), Alan Poggenpohl, Craig Poggenpohl (Lisa) and Robin Poggenpohl; her step-children and their families; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Poggenpohl, grandson, Lance (Porky) Martin and sister, Maxine Hull.
