Obituary of Susan Jayne Snyder

Susan J. Snyder, age 81 of Fairfield died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Susan Jayne Harper was born May 3, 1942, in Fairfield, the daughter of Hugo and Henrietta Anice (Oliver) Harper.  Following high school she was united in marriage to Norman Snyder on May 20, 1960, in Burlington, Iowa.    For many years Susan worked at Creative Edge in Fairfield where she made many long lasting friends. In her retirement she enjoyed her simple afternoon chats with her neighbors where she lived.

Her family includes her children, Scott Snyder (Shawn), Becky Hoover (Jerry), Connie Snyder, Joann Johnson (Harold) and Mike Snyder (Chrissy); 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 grand cats and 1 grand dog.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman; daughter, Chris Kuntz, sister, Jan Catanzro and brother, Les Harper.

No public services are planned, she wished to donate her physical to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program to teach the future doctors, nurses, dentist, and so many others in the health fields of tomorrow.
