Obituary of Paul Cavanaugh

Paul E. Cavanaugh, age 49 of Iowa City died Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at his residence in Iowa City.

Paul Edward Cavanaugh was born April 26, 1974, in Davenport, Iowa the son of Richard L. and Dana E. (Schaffer) Cavanaugh.  He graduated from Davenport West High School.  Paul has lived in Iowa City for several years now, many knowing him through his variety of hobbies – art, biking, trivia, and his love for the outdoors.

His family includes his parents, Richard and Dana Cavanaugh; siblings, Christine Hetherington (Phillip), Cheryl Cavanaugh, Matthew Cavanaugh, and Amy Chally (Jonathan); and 7 beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luke and Frances Cavanaugh and Arthur and Bertha Schaffer.

Private family services will be held through Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service where you can share a condolence on the website @ www.gayandciha.com.
