Obituary of Otis Devell Dawson Sr.

Otis Devell Dawson Sr. was born August 23, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Viola Dawson.  He attended Crane High School in Chicago. Otis enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and they always enjoyed eating it as it was delicious.   Otis departed this earth on August 4, 2023.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Viola; sister, Tara; brother, Gus; Otis’s son, Otis Jr.; grandson, Zy-Shaun; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Monday, August 14th, 2023 at the Purpose Place (611 Southgate, Iowa City), with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
