Tim became the brother I never had while we were both in high school. His qualities were obvious: a faithful and devoted friend, singing harmony in a group of guys who couldn't carry a tune, a writer with a wonderful imagination, addicted to orphan Corvairs. Witty and funny, he had the gift of laughing with others and at himself. The one memorable gift I was able to give was introducing him to Diane during our senior years, a gift that kept giving for over 50 years.
We drifted apart after high school, but got back in touch in Grand Rapids. The four of us shared adventures and much laughter: sneaking into the line for tickets to the King Tut exhibit, camping with flaming marshmallows on my shoe, and nights shared telling jokes and stories.
We stayed in touch over the years, though separated by many miles. Picking up as if we had just talked the week before. When I talked about retirement Tim said he didn't know why he would since he loved what he was doing. Reading about all his activities I now understand why he felt that way.
Our latest talks always include Tim sharing his love of family. We'd trade stories about grandchildren, both a bit in wonderment about what we had ever done to deserve the joy they give. Your could hear the smile on his face as he looked forward to seeing those grandbabies and babysitting.
Tim, you lived a full life, touching all those around you. You've created memories of love, and laughter, and giving that will remain long after the immediate sorrow of our parting passes.
May God bless and keep you Diane, and all of Tim's extended family,
Gary and Phyllis Bartosiewicz
