Condolences
Rock, we love you and cannot believe you are gone. You were a kind, smart, witty wonderful person to be around and I was just looking forward to getting to know you better this weekend at our Drake reunion.

I was so distressed to learn of Steve's passing. I knew Steve and you because my brother Kirk lived next door in a RFYP house. Both you and Steve were always so kind to the residents there and so friendly to me and my Mom Marian.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you navigate this very difficult time....

I am so sorry to learn of Steve’s passing. I met him years ago as part of the housing and community development commission, when he was working on the housing task force. A positive, friendly and fair minded person. May the example he set continue.
Steve - You Legend! It was an absolute honour to call you a friend. Your massive sense of humour was only eclipsed by the size of your heart. I will always remember Monday Nights in "The Lounge" in Dubuque, and our time in a Dragon Boat, on the Mississippi. Heartfelt Condolences to Sandy and Extended Family from Lynn and I :-( -
Steve and I went to Bergan High School together and hung out quite a bit. He was always a lot of fun and made me laugh. I have many memories of the wild things we’d do. Last time I saw him was at our 40th reunion and it was so nice reminiscing about our high school days. My sincerest sympathies to his family. May he rest in peace. Gone too soon.
Becky and family,
So very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Did not know him to much but I was high school friends with Becky. Saw him every now and then but not since high school. Great family. Love and hugs Becky!!
I knew Steve from Bergan High School in Peoria. He always had a smile on his face, and enjoyed life. We had a nice visit last year when I stopped in Iowa City on my way to Peoria. Rest in Peace my friend.

Dear Sandy and Family ,My heartfelt condolences at this time of grief. Deb Stewart
My husband and I met Steve at the gym several years ago. We chatted casually and enjoyed sharing stories of Iowa City activities. He was always so cheerful.
Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Rackis family: our condolences and sincerest sympathy. I was a good friend of “Rock” in our old days at Drake. Sorry to say I had not seen him since. Just talked to another Drake friend recently and learned Steve was in Iowa City. I am kicking myself for not trying to make contact. Have one for me up there old buddy!
Becky my prayers are with you and your family. Your brother Steven had a wonderful full life and it was taken too short. We will never know why but God had other plans for him. May your family takes comfort knowing Steve is watching over them.
We are so very sad to hear the news of Steve’s passing. I feel very fortunate to have know him, he was a really nice man. I worked with him at the Housing Authority for a number of years and saw how dedicated he was to his work and how much he cared about his job and his employees. He was very generous with his time and no matter what he was working on, if his door was open, we could go to him with any problem or issue and he always took time to meet and discuss. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Colin and Sandy, this is such a sudden and deep loss.

I knew Steve from working at IC but we had our best chats when he stopped by HyVee with Colin. I will definitely miss them coming in to say hi. My prayers are with you all.
Sandy and family,
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family! My heart is breaking for you. You have to hang onto your memories! Hugs to all of you! Love, Pat and Laura Schwartz
