Obituary of Judith A. Alberhasky

Judith Ann Alberhasky, 74, longtime resident of Iowa City, died Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 8:32 am of complications due to breast cancer.

Judy (Judith) was born June 21, 1948 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Frank and Virginia Orr.  Judy worked as a cook at the University of Iowa at the Iowa Memorial Union and Berg Market place, where she retired in 2010.  Judy also liked going to the casino with her friends and listening to their favorite bands, and yes do some gambling too. 

Judy will be missed by her children, John (Denise) Alberhasky, David (Donna) Alberhasky, and Cindy (Parks) Alberhasky, as well as her partner of nine years, Robert Holden.  Judy will also be remembered and missed by her grandchildren, Alina, Taylor, Ethan, DeVante, ShaLynn and her great grandchildren, Aubrie, Valarie, Kyson, Eleanore and Jameson, and her siblings Bob Orr, Bunny Paul, and Toni Sanders. 

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Virginia Orr and Uncle Bob, and her partner, John Shimon.

Judy didn’t want a big funeral, she wanted you to remember her as she was the last time you saw her.  Memorials can be sent to Iowa City Hospice in Judy’s Memory.
