Obituary of Carol Ann Wells

Carol Ann Wells passed away Saturday morning, May 6, 2023 in Hills, Iowa.  She was 74 years old.

Carol was born April 18, 1949, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Weldon (Buck) and Florence (Alberta) Day Toops.

Carol was married to John (Hop) Lybarger and later to Richard (Dick) Wells. Carol worked many years at the Kmart in Monmouth, IL. and later worked as a nurse at a VA clinic in Bettendorf, IA. She devoted her life to GOD, loved dancing and spending time with her friends and family. Carol is survived by one daughter, Heather Lybarger-Vanosdall of Saint Petersburg, FL; one son, Brent Lybarger and his wife Tori of Kalona IA; six grandchildren, Bryant, Blake, Bailee, Brody, Blayde, and Brooklynne Lybarger.

Carol fought a fierce battle with cancer since being diagnosed in 2010. Carol's faith in GOD gave her the courage to face the trials and sufferings with great strength and endurance. She was an inspiration to all of her family and friends. Her two children, Brent and Heather, loved her very much. She adored her 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren tremendously. The family continued to stay by her side during this difficult journey, comforting her and making sure she was in the best care.

It was Carol’s wish to have her body donated to the Deeded Body Program through the University of Iowa to continue the education for future generations.

A memorial fund is being established for the American Cancer Society.
