Deb was a wonderful friend to my parents Ernie and Jean Hill. I just recently learned of her passing and was heart broken as she always made time for my parent. I live in New Jersey and every time I was home Artswork was at the top of their list for a visit. She a good good person and is so very missed.

All too soon a year without Deb. She was, and is, such a moving Spirit in the larger community. That Spirit will forever be with us. This includes the force in founding the Friends of Vavder Veer. Just one of the many forces, much like she. to bring lasting benefits to us all. Thanks Deb, for embellishing our lives you remain with us in our journey.

Deb sang at my wedding 51 years ago! The Lord's Prayer and One Hand One Heart at Edwards Congregational UCC in Davenport. We were friends in Sunday School and Fellowship.

Deb was my best friend in high school. We were Tennis partners all 4 years of high-school. We had a great deal of fun in art and choir. She was special! As I moved away, I would come back and try to see her as the years past. She was always a great friend and lived a wonderful life. So sorry for your loss.

We were shocked and so saddened to read about Deb’s passing in the Quad City Times. I first met Deb when we moved to LeClaire in 1997 and was exploring the downtown with two of my sisters. I was enchanted by Artswork and the wonderful assortment of items in the store. From then on, I used any excuse to shop at Artswork and enjoy visiting with its wonderful owner. Deb was intelligent, generous and active in the community! Both Jim and I enjoyed working with Deb on local political issues. We are grateful for Deb’s generosity to First Presbyterian Church of LeClaire in our assorted missions and so very grateful to have been able to share in a small part of this amazing woman’s life. Our sincere condolences to Deb’s family and many friends.

Deb left a huge impression on my life and I was thankful to know her and have her in my life. She was one of a kind and as the obituary alludes to.... a force of nature. I will always remember - as a young 22 year old kid from New York who was living and working for the first time in Iowa for some guy named Obama - how she took me in like I was one of her own. Will always love you Deb.
