Obituary of Carol A. Dolezal

Carol Ann Dolezal, age 73 of rural Homestead died Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the St. Mary’s Auditorium in Oxford, where there will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 1 to 3 pm Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Carol’s memory to the Amana First Responders. Carol was born March 15, 1949, in Oxford, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret (Klein) Schropp. She married William F. Dolezal on January 3, 1970, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. Carol enjoyed her simple life, she liked the outdoors fishing, camping, cooking and baking on the open pit of a campfire. Her family and friends will always remember the pies she made from scratch on the campfire, not only delicious but beautiful! Her family includes her husband, Bill, children, William Wayne Dolezal and Heidi Dawn Dolezal; grandson, David Michael Dolezal; siblings, Eugene Schropp , Marilyn Brenneman, Beverly Tolley, Tom Schropp, John Schropp and Peggy Grove; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Lou Schropp and Darlene Bryn; brothers, Donnie, Ronnie and Jim.
