I will always have wonderful memories of Shirley as she made us all feel like part of the family. Having moved to Iowa City and new to West High I was blessed to become great friends with Terry and will never forget the loving grace shown by Shirley when at the Vorbrich's home. She always has a place in my heart as a parent who really got it and over the years River Heights and their home was a treasured experience. Shirley's legacy lives on in the amazing Vorbrich children and great grandchildren carrying on in her tradition.
I remember your Mom so well. She and your Dad were always on the Mid-State trips. We enjoyed getting together with them and other friends. Such wonderful memories!! Terry and Norma - they were so proud of you.
I am very sorry for the loss of Shirley. I was happy to have met her.I remember years ago meeting Shirley. My husband was Bill’s nephew and we stopped for a visit. I remember their home, she had created a lovely home and garden. The garden was like a wonderland. I remember liking Shirley immediately. She was so warm and very much had a distinctive, fun, outgoing personality, her own brand of positive uniqueness. I very much enjoyed hearing her talk. She could make anything sound interesting. I also remember she was a wonderful cook. Shirley served us a delicious meal. I have good memories of Shirley. I was lucky to have had the chance to spend some time with her.
