Obituary of Ruby E. MacGowan

Ruby E. Waters MacGowan, age 98 of Iowa City, formerly of West Liberty died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Legacy Gardens in Iowa City. Ruby was born December 9, 1924, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Grover and Effie (Strong) Fountain. Following high school, she married Lysle Waters. Following his death, she was united in marriage to Howard MacGowan. Her family includes her daughter, Cindy Huff; granddaughter, Christy Meyer (John) and great-grandson, Quintin Meyer, sister, Joyce Snyder and several nieces and nephews.. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lysle Waters and Howard MacGowan; sons, Terry Waters, Roger Waters and David Waters Meyer; son-in-law, Rick Huff and eleven siblings.
