Obituary of Bonnie Bea Evans

Bonnie Bea Evans, age 93, passed away September 19, 2022, in Iowa City. Bonnie’s family will receive guests at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation (2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City) on Friday, September 23, from 4-7 pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 11 am, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. A luncheon celebrating Bonnie's life will be held at the Coralville American Legion (901 2nd St, Coralville) following the services at the graveside. Bonnie was born December 2, 1928, in Coralville, the daughter of Joseph and Alta Anna (Heddleston) Blaha. Bonnie loved her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild. She loved to crochet and play cards. She enjoyed going to the casino. When time allowed, she found peace in watching the birds. Bonnie will be missed dearly. Her love, memories and lessons will be carried on by all who loved her. Bonnie is survived by her cherished children, Susie (Mike) Wade and Sally (Mike) Attwood; grandchildren, Patrick (Cerina) Wade, Angie (James) Waters, Russell (Emily) Yansky and Brandon (Carla Franck) Yansky; step-grandchildren, Jayson (Paula) Attwood, Andy Attwood and Brett (Melissa) Attwood; great grandchildren, Avery Yansky, Brilynn Yansky, Hazel Yansky, Eleanor Yansky, Riggins Yansky, Austin Waters, Emma Waters, Kaitlin Waters, Annabelle Attwood, Mayson Attwood, Lincoln Attwood, Cayla Attwood, Ava Attwood, Ashton Attwood, Hannah Attwood, Aubrey Attwood and Scarlet Attwood; great great granddaughter, Malani Waters; sister, Alta and sister-in-law, Pauline Evans. Sadly, Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert; her siblings, Joe Blaha, Billy Blaha, Jack Blaha, Helen Wolcott, Shirley Evans, and Judy Fountain; and her parents, Joseph and Alta Anna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Oxford Legion Post 537 Memorial Fund.
