I am so sad to hear about Brad’s passing a year after this celebration. I have a lot of good memories of Brad. He really was a cool dude. My favorite of Brad: me complaining about the George’s cd jukebox leaving and him telling me you don’t know what it was like when CD’s replaced the 45 jukebox with a look that said a lot. I also loved hearing the story of Dave circling the famous author’s name in the orbituary telling Brad “guess who is not 86th at the Foxhead no more”

My deepest condolences and sympathy to his family and friends. I can imagine a year later after his passing you will be missing him any less. I’m sad I won’t ever get the privilege to speak to him again. God bless.

Mr. and Mrs. Meister and family, I just saw that Brad has passed on not so long ago. I am so very sorry to hear that. I remember Brad as being a little shy but such a nice guy. It was pretty cool to see him graduate and move on to his new path in life. I had not seen Brad in forever but will miss him and regret that he's gone long before his time. Happy Trails, Brad. Brad was always there to listen. He accepted everyone without judgment. I enjoyed going on long rides on our Harleys, especially to Solon along the backroads. Dear Meisters: I met Brad at the Hilltop and we rode our Harleys with our friend Fox, who passed because of cancer, and Glen. After Fox was gone I’d go to Foxhead on Mondays to drink Schlitz and be with Brad. His soul soothed mine. Loved his dredds Sorry for your loss. A lot of us will miss him. Not a remarkable memory but when we were in high school he picked me up one day when I was walking out of town. I remember him stopping and hollering out the window. “Do you need a ride?” It’s simply part of a memory I’ll always remember. He was simply a person you remember was at this place at this time. What a nice guy he was. I regret I didn’t cross paths with him in Iowa City over these past years. My deepest condolences to you.

Not an uncommon story, but I attended the UofI between 2007-2012 and found a home at George's, which then quickly expanded to the Fox Head and Dublin Underground. Brad immediately made me feel like a part of the family, lovingly teasing me along with everyone else. It was never a bad time with Brad. Sending so much love to his family and friends. Iowa City will not be the same without him.

I’m so sorry to hear of Brad’s passing. I became friends with Brad in the 90s and have many happy memories. His presence was striking and he was always quick with a welcoming smile and fun banter. His charm and wit were one of a kind and we shared many laughs. Such a special soul, he’ll be deeply missed.

I was saddened to hear of Brad's passing. Brad had a unique sense of self and an effortless outlook on life. I will remember the fascinating conversations we had at the Deadwood. The obituary described him perfectly. He will be missed by so many.

I remember Brad from the few times I visited the Dublin in the mid to late 90's, but what I remember most about him was his keen ability to pitch a softball in such a way that as a batter you thought there is no way this is getting anywhere near the plate and then suddenly you're getting caught looking at a strike that has landed directly square on the plate.

So sad to hear this. A former Sinclair man myself I remember Brad from those gas station days. I appreciate his hang out spots and his passions, wish I had been around Iowa City more over the years, we would likely have crossed paths. My deepest sympathies.

Brad became one of my first friends when I moved to Solon in 1977. I was in awe of his beer can collection and we had great times looking at baseball cards. I worked with Brad at Lake McBride and then later at Sinclair, where he was my boss! I was also a roommate of Brad's for awhile, and loved sitting in on their Dungeons and Dragons sessions (Allanon!). He had an awesome book collection, and I checked out a lot of them. Brad and I also shared a love of music (although not necessarily the same music lol), and from time to time he would run sound for a band I was in. I will miss him.

My heart goes out to The Family, but this is a loss felt by many. If you walked into a place and saw Brad, you smiled. Wherever he went he brought humor, wit, sarcasm, and mysterious happy energy. There will never be another like him.
