Teri,

Jackie and I just recently became aware of Larry's passing just before last Christmas. We want to extend our sincere condolencess to you and your family during this still tender time. We remember Larry best as a person who dearly loved his family and who exemplifed true servanthood to the Lord and His church. I'm sure that many of us, who were or are currently a part of Parkview Church, can thank Larry for his selfish service in helping see the expansion of the church facilites and grounds.

We will also remember you and Larry being our neighbors over on the east side of Iowa City during the 12 years that we lived there. We hope that you have many wonderful memories that you and your children can reflect on for years to come until you get the opportunity to join him in heaven. May God bestow his richest blessings on you as you learn to live without your precious husband on a day to day basis. Our prayers are with you!

My sympathy to Teri and family. I had the good fortune of knowing Larry through our many years of working together serving the clients as well as the employees of Farmers National Company. Larry brought an excellent background to the company. He also had a unique ability to train and supervise employees as well as serve landowners. He also was a visionary in developing several applications on his personal computer to serve everyone better. Although both of us have been retired for several years, I was able to connect with Larry recently at Mary Eymann's retirement luncheon,...….which I now reflect on as a true blessing.

Teri and family, I was surprised and saddened to hear about Larry. We knew each other for nearly 35 years. He was the third person I met when I started working at Farmers National and he was my first boss at the company. We worked through some tough times together in the 1980's. He was a good mentor, a good boss and a great friend.

In the early years with the company farm managers shared rooms when overnight stays were required, as a way to save money. So, my second week on the job I spent 5 full days with Larry in Minnesota in my new territory, which was also new for the company. We spent four nights in the same room that week . . . and so needless to say we really got to know each other well!

Larry was a great person to begin my career at FNC with as he was very patient and also he was willing to take the lead when we got into to stressful situations. He also had me bring my farm files to Iowa City two years for year end farm reports, and use his computer in his home to complete my reports. This gave me a chance to meet all of you during those visits.

He was a great supporter for me during the years of my career at FNC, and as mentioned a great friend. I am sorry that Jean and I will not be able to attend his service as we will not be in the Midwest at that time. However, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you celebrate Larry's life next month.

My sympathies to Teri and her family. I first met Larry when he was just hired at a Farmers National Company area meeting in Ft. Dodge. As farm managers, we were asked to share motel rooms. Larry was so excited and wanted to learn everything about the job we talked into the night. I could tell he was someone special and had a lot to offer the company.

In December 1983, four of us, Larry, myself, and two other managers purchased Apple IIe computers the first ones used by managers in the company to my knowledge. Larry was a leader in developing programs for use in management.

Teri and family,

I am so sad to hear this news. Larry was such a great man. He had faith in me years ago and hired a really green college kid from Iowa State University to come work for Farmers National Company. One thing lead to another and years later I am still with that great Company. I remember coming to your home in Iowa City many times and spending time with Larry and your family and helping him with work while he trained me.

I appreciate more the time that I spent with him just this year. We had dinner together at a retirement luncheon for a fellow employee last summer and we corresponded just a month ago by email. Larry was always so engaged and the confidence he showed in my abilities was appreciated just as much now as it was when I started my career with him years ago.

He loved his family deeply and and showed a lot of pride in all his successful children. He will be missed! My deepest condolences to you all in this time of loss.
