We were so sorry to hear about Barb passing. She always made us feel so welcome at Christ the King and had a kind word to say. She radiated warmth. :) We often speak of what fond memories we have of both of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you especially, David, and your family as you mourn Barb’s passing. I so enjoyed time spent with her on various occasions at Gloria Dei, particularly on altar guild and quilting Mondays. She always wore a smile, was so warm to others.
With my deepest condolences,
Mary Miller

Dear Pastor Dave, This is Mark Rathke (barber) in Coralville. I just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family in the loss of your wife Barbara. As I read through the writing of your wife’s journey in her life. She was a special lady and a special gift from God. In her accomplishments throughout her life, she has left many footprints that you, your children, and grandchildren will carry on for the rest of their lives. She is a special Angel and God use her to share His love with everyone. May Jesus be with you Pastor Dave, giving you His love and protection in the days to come. May Jesus face shine on you and give you His peace. In Jesus name we pray Amen Love You Pastor Dave! Blessings, Mark
Dear David and your entire family. I was saddened to read in the Lawrence Journal World about Barbara's death. I have fond, and important, memories of the two of you from the time I spent with you as my pastor. Barbara was such a warm, kind, loving, intelligent, compassionate, caring, empathetic and sensitive person. You two always showed your love for each other and that love seemed to flow out to enfold all those near you. It was a wonderful experience to be with you both. I remember the last time we met, in Iowa City, shortly after my wife had died. Barbara was a consolation to me and my son. I am sure that you are at a loss and in deep shock and watching your beloved wife disappear to Alzheimer's must have been the saddest and most difficult thing in your life. Please know that you and Barbara are in the loving prayers of many. Rob Backus Burlington, Vermont
