Dale was a great guy. He was our attorney for years. He will be missed
I knew Dale as my friend and attorney. He was a great guy and will be missed by all. My condolences to all his family
My condolences to the Sanderson Family:
As a former practicing attorney in Iowa City I knew Dale for many years. He was a great attorney and from all accounts his clients loved him. As did members of the Johnson County Bar.
Shelly, John and I were so surprised and very saddened to learn of Dale's passing this week. We were with Dale for over twenty years and my dear Mother, Mildred Keller, was with him for more years prior to her passing last year. Dale was a very gentle, wise and honest man who counseled us well with our taxes and with life. We will miss him so very much. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Take care
I was so so saddened to learn of Dale's passing. For more than 25 years, I have enjoyed working with Dale. We would often share stories of growing up on the farm in Clay County and lament the fact that the dirt here was just not the same. We would often talk about our trips "home" and what a joy it still is to work in the fields at harvest time. We sometimes were on opposite sides of the table but even when we were adversaries, he was reasonable, fair, and professional. He was one of the good ones. And I will miss him. My sincere condolences to Dale's family and to his law partners.
These words are so well-spoken, thoughtful and fitting for a fantastic guy. The Sanderson’s have been close friends of the Schintler family for as long as I can remember. I have so many memories of spending time at the depot office, BBQs, bowling parties, holiday parties, card games and pop drinking competitions with Nate. Many people have noted Dale’s great smile. I never saw it bigger than when he’d look at his cards and say to his euchre partner (my dad), “stay in the truck!”
This is such a difficult time – sending my best thoughts to Dale, Nate, the Sanderson family and all of Dale's many, many friends.
I remember waiting on your dad at village inn every morning. He was a great guy, he will be missed.
My lawyer, a best friend and just a super person. Will miss the fun days canning tomato juice using his special tomato juice recipe. Dan Summers
A great person his smile and laugh shall be missed but always remembered. Godspeed Dale I will see you on the other side some day.
I always liked to come and see Dale at the office! He always had time for a nice chat, as well as handling "the business stuff". He always had a smile, and was always interested in what was going on with you and your family. The obituary was a perfect representation of the man! My condolences to the family. He will be missed! Beautifully written obituary! Dale was such a kind man. We had a good visit every year when I brought my mom in to have her taxes done. Sincere condolences to Dale’s family and colleagues. May he rest in eternal peace.

We have known Dale and his family for many years, and were saddened to learn of his passing. Our deepest condolences to each of his family members. The newspaper tribute to Dale was a perfect memorial to describe him. Also to mention, that when you brought in your tax information for him to prepare, he was always willing to visit awhile before you left. His smile was contagious. You never felt rushed out the door. His memory will always linger close to our hearts.
Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

Shelly, so sorry to hear of Dale's passing. He will be greatly missed.
Sending our condolences to the family. I remember going to his office when I was a little girl, with my grandparents, to drop off their taxes, and visit with him.He was always so jolly and full of smiles. I had no idea of the connection...that this was your dad, Shelly. I'm so sorry for your loss.
My whole family have been clients of Dales as well as friends for the past 35+ years. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. We loved meeting Dale in his office with stacks of paper everywhere!. He was always a joy to visit with. I loved his twinkling eyes and belly laugh, when he told stories about my dad. Our sympathies to his family. Mike and Gail (Neppel) O’Donnell
My prayers to Dale's family. For 30 plus years I have worked with Dale checking and reviewing tax returns at the law firm and getting to know him and his passion for being honest and fair to all who knew and worked with him. Every year, even after Dad died, it has been a tradition to make homemade sauerkraut with Dale. He would call when his cabbage patch was ready for harvest with that machete ready to lop off the heads. Then with that old cutter and those barrels and plenty of salt we'd put it all together laughing and joking and sweating and knowing there is nothing like the real deal... just like Dale. Sincerely John Neuzil Iowa City
My condolences to Dale's Family. SUCH a nice guy! So smart in his business and liked by all! I did a lot of real estate transactions as an Agent with Dale over the years. Whenever I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY to go to Dale's Office, it was a treat! IT was like going back to 1957 or so. Quiet inside, no hustle, no bustle, stacks of paperwork, old chairs, benches, old tile floors, etc. Dale FIT the Office just right and I loved it! HE will be missed by a LOT of people including we Realtors here in Iowa City.
My professional path did not cross Dale's but rarely, but I would see him around, at the Courthouse or on the street, and he was invariably smiling and always pleasant. Reading his wonderful obituary, I wish now I had taken more time to visit with him and get to know him. My deepest condolences to his family for their loss. Sharon Mellon
To all of Dale’s family I send my heartfelt condolences. During my working years I had many business contacts with Dale, especially with real estate transactions. I enjoyed his ready wit, dependability and integrity. He will certainly be missed by so many!

To all Dales family, You have our heartfelt sympathy. We always enjoyed seeing Dale come tax time. He would always tell us (While Grinning) "The taxes would come out better if we just would have another kid"

Shelly, Tom and boys and the entire Sanderson family,
What a beautiful tribute to an amazing father, grandfather and friend. I never saw Dale without a smile on his face and to say he was proud of his family, is an understatement. He was so proud of all of you and his passing will leave a huge void. I hope you will all take comfort in the many memories you have of Dale and that these memories bring you strength, peace and comfort in the days ahead. Much love. Sharon, Matthew and Ryan
